Majority of burglars go to the master bedroom as their first stop because that’s where people usually keep their valuables such as jewelry and cash. • If you are going on a vacation then make sure you talk to your family, friends, and neighbors, to keep an eye out on your house while you are away. It would be the best to actually have someone house sit for you because a person in the house is the best security against burglars. It is also a good idea to not announce your vacation plans with dates on social media. This is because most burglars are from nearby and sometimes it can be people you know so giving them exact days that your house will be left unprotected makes the burglars job easy! Only tell people you know and trust about your plans and you can share your memories on social media after your trip.
• Research shows that burglars tend to avoid houses with security systems. This should not be surprising especially with high security smart systems available in today’s market. These security systems are typically work with a code and unless the code is entered in 10 seconds it will automatically call the police and send the homeowner a notification that someone is in their house. They also have security cameras for inside and outside of the house that can identify the burglar and thus the burglars avoid houses with high security systems. Overall it would be a good idea to get a security system installed especially if you are someone who is out of the house a lot and want a peace of mind.
